How It Works

Three Steps. No Overhead.

No inventory to hold, no invoices to chase. The partnership runs on a discount code and a referral link. Your school or instructors promote either, and RMP Finishes handles the rest.

Why Partner

Built for schools that teach with real materials.

Craft schools that build their curriculum around traditional, non-toxic finishes are exactly who this program is for. The partnership formalizes something many instructors are already doing informally, recommending the products they trust, and turns it into a revenue line for the school.

There’s no fee to join and nothing to purchase upfront. Commission accrues passively whenever a student uses your code or purchases through your link. It’s incremental income on materials your program is already recommending.

Milk paint, paste wax, and pure wood oils are historically accurate finishing methods which are ideal for programs teaching traditional woodworking, furniture conservation, and period techniques.

Non-toxic, low-VOC, and biodegradable formulas mean fewer ventilation and safety accommodations in a shared classroom or shop. Plus, a discount that makes the supply list easier on students.

Active partner schools are featured on this page and across RMP Finishes’ marketing that highlights your program to a national audience of makers.

Why It Matters

Natural finishes, taught how they were intended, by hand

A safer material for a shared classroom

Craft schools operate in shared shops, often with limited ventilation and students of varying experience levels. Milk paint, paste wax, and pure wood oils are formulated without the solvents and off-gassing common in conventional lacquers and polyurethanes, which makes them a practical fit for classroom settings, not just an aesthetic choice.

A finishing supply list your students can actually afford

Course supply costs add up fast once finishes are added to a materials list. A standing partner discount lowers that barrier for students without the school having to subsidize it directly, and gives instructors a straightforward answer when students ask where to buy what’s used in class.

Teaching technique, not just product

Because milk paint is mixed from powder and applied in traditional layers, and paste wax is built up and burnished by hand, these finishes lend themselves to instruction. Students learn a process, not just how to open a can, which is part of why so many furniture-making, conservation, and heritage-trades programs already teach with them.

Who this program is built for

Woodworking schools, furniture-making programs, historic preservation and restoration courses, fine arts and mixed-media programs, homesteading and heritage-craft schools, and any instructor who already recommends natural, traditional finishes to their students.
